Favorite Bible Verses

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you." - Ephesians 4:29-32  (To remember how what I say affects others)

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24 (To remember that I should look for ways to help others show God’s love)

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways", declares the LORD. - Isaiah 55:8 (To remember that I may not always understand the why)

What I love most about First Baptist Moody

What I have found in FBC Moody is irreplaceable.  I have found friendships that are founded on God which make them incredibly strong.  I have found opportunities to step out of my comfort zone and into God’s calling on my life even though they are terrifying.  I have grown as a wife to my husband, a mother to my children, a friend in my friendships, but mostly I have grown as a servant of Christ.  Growing is uncomfortable but it is always amazing to see how God uses people and situations to refine His children into people who better reflect Him.  My favorite thing about FBC is watching our church become more mature in their faith.  Seeing a brother or sister or one of our children validate the importance of living a life of obedience to God by how they are serving in their life:  Seeing someone pray out loud for the first time, teach a bible study, reach out to a fellow member who is hurting, exert patience in a trying situation and just applying the Bible to the way they respond to life.
